Overview

Hop is an SSH terminal client for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app handles and, just as importantly, what it doesn't.

Data collection

Hop does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with Caritos or any third party. The app has no backend server, no analytics, and no tracking or advertising SDKs of any kind.

What's stored on your device

• Host, port, and username for your saved connection are stored locally using iOS's standard app storage.
• Your password is stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple's secure credential store — the same mechanism used by Safari and other system apps. It is encrypted at rest by iOS and is never stored in plain text.

None of this data ever leaves your device except as part of the SSH connection you initiate yourself.

Network connections

When you tap Connect, Hop opens a direct, encrypted SSH connection from your device to the host you specify. This connection goes straight to your server — it does not pass through any server operated by Caritos.

Permissions

Hop does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, or any other sensitive iOS permission.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date above.
